The department of Mathematics and Physics has a well-structured teaching staff who are experienced and of high caliber. Currently it has 43 full-time teachers, among which are two professors, 8 associate professors, two with post-doctorate degree, 7 with Ph.D degree, 90% have Doctor and Master Degrees.

Currently the department comprises of 3 concentrations and 2 teaching department: Mathematics and applied mathematics, Informationn and computational science, Optical Information Sciences and Technology, College Mathematics Department and ?College Physics Department. It also has 3 labs and 2 institutes.
